Getting HereFrom Glasgow
There are two ways to The Kyles 10 Miles, Kames, Tighnabruaich from Glasgow. Both take about one hour 40 minutes and come through some of Scotlands most beautiful scenery:
By ferry: There are two regular car ferry services across the Clyde from Gourock ( half an hour on the M8 from Glasgow) to Dunoon. Tighnabruaich is approximately 25 miles from Dunoon, taking the B836 through Glen Lean and then the A8003 around the Kyles of Bute.
By road: Cross the Clyde on the Erskine Bridge (3 miles from Glasgow Airport on the M8) and take the A82 alongside Loch Lomond to Tarbet then over the Rest and Be Thankful (the A83) ) before turning left onto the A815, sign-posted Dunoon. At the village of Strachur turn right onto the A886 and after 15 miles, just after the Clachan of Glendaruel, turn right again onto the A8003 to Tighnabruaich. When you get to the T junction at the shore turn right until you come to a hill, the shinty pitch is on the left.
Registration is at the Kames Hall further up the shinty brae to the cross roads with the Post Office - straight across the junction and 100 yards along the road. Parking available on the road outside the hall.
